hi

i have been trying to post some embedded youtube scripts but the final post only shows the html code.

i can post standard links ok but not where the vids will play directly within the post.

am i doing something wrong?

No you are not doing anything wrong.

When we first set up the board we had left the ability to post embedded scripts open.

Unfortunately as with so many things in life there are idiots (in this case mostly a lot of idiot spammers) that abuse the things that would be nice for the rest of us to be able to use. In this case they were embedding not so nice code.

Honestly I really hated to shut down the embed code option as we wanted to post some of the embedded code like youtube also. Unfortunately it just left the board to open for people that would try to harm others (other people’s computers) for no reason other than they can.

Tis so sad that so many seem to have forgotten - that with freedom comes responsibility. So many seem to like to abuse the few freedoms we have for no good reason - as a result harming everyone and making us all loose in the long run.
