This could become a rather complex topic especially if we start getting into all the detailed possibilities regarding salvation as well as loosing it, so to keep the answer simple I am just going to stay with a high level view.
Yes I believe a person can choose to reject their Lord and Saviour at anytime, even after being saved/accepting Jesus into their life.
The Bible talks about a person’s name being blotted out of the book of life. (In order for a name be blotted out, it must have been entered into the book at some previous time.)
For instance, Revelations 3:5 says “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”
Once we are saved, the devil and/or his minions/demons are going to try every trick they can to get us to reject Our Lord. Sometimes so subtly that many do not even realize that they have been deceived and no longer following Our Lord. To often we forget that the Devil has the ability to appear as or pretend to be, an Angel of Light. (2 Corinthians 11:13-14 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ's apostles. And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.)
If we do not allow ourselves to be lead astray by the devil overcoming the challenges and temptations that will be placed before we retain our salvation. However if we, for whatever reason, reject the salvation and the authority of The Father, Our Saviour Jesus Christ and The Holy Ghost, choosing instead to willing and intentionally follow a path of destruction then our name will be blotted out of the book of life and our salvation lost.
Just my thought.
May Our Creator watch over you and your family. |
