The name's Bird. James Bird.
Ok, ok NewsFeed doesn't actually know if the vulture that was "detained" by Saudi Arabian authorities shared a name with the 007 agent, but we couldn't resist.
The bird in question was caught a few days ago by Saudi Arabian locals, who discovered that the griffon vulture was carrying a GPS transmitter with a label from Tel Aviv University.
Fearing a Zionist plot, the locals turned the bird over to the police and rumors of espionage for Israel began circulating throughout local media.
For their part, Israeli officials have deemed such accusations as absurd, saying that the GPS was used to track the bird's behavior. (via BBC) |
